How 1-on-1 online English lessons work on Vocabest
Every lesson is a live video call between you and one teacher. There are no groups, no pre-recorded courses and no worksheets you work through alone. That matters more than it sounds: in a class of eight, you speak for a few minutes an hour. In a 1-on-1 lesson you speak for most of it, and a teacher can stop, correct and re-explain the moment something goes wrong instead of at the end of the term.
You start with a free video consultation. It is not a shortened demo lesson and not a sales call with a coordinator, it is a real meeting with the teacher you picked. You talk about where your English is now, what you actually need it for, and how they would structure your lessons. There is nothing to pay for it and nothing to commit to afterwards. If the fit is wrong, you book a consultation with someone else and try again.
Paid lessons run in a video classroom built into Vocabest. There is no Zoom link to find, no Teams account to create and no app to install: you open your booking and press join, in the same browser you are reading this in. A laptop or phone with a camera, a microphone and a reasonable connection is the whole equipment list.
- Meet the teacher on a free video call before any money changes hands.
- Lessons are 1-on-1 and live, so most of the talking time is yours.
- The classroom runs in the browser, nothing to download or install.
- Availability is shown in your own time zone and booked one lesson at a time.
