Take a quick placement quiz or self-assess on the CEFR scale (A1–C2). We use it to match you with the right tutor and start lessons at the right level.

Meet for free
Book a free consultation: a short video chat to make sure your tutor is the right fit. No card needed; you only ever pay for lessons you choose to book.
Step 4
Book lessons that fit
Pick a date and time from your tutor's calendar; they confirm the slot and you pay securely through Stripe. Lessons fit around your life, not the other way round.
Step 5
Learn in the built-in classroom
When it's time, a Join lesson button appears on your booking. One click and you're face-to-face with your tutor, right in your browser.
Step 6
Review & keep growing
Rate your lessons to help other learners, track your progress, and climb the CEFR scale at your own pace.
Where the lessons happen
Every consultation and lesson takes place in Vocabest's own video classroom: a private 1-on-1 room created for each booking. No Zoom, no Teams, no downloads and no meeting links to chase. Just your booking and a Join button.
For students
A Join lesson button appears on your booking 10 minutes before the start time. No links to hunt for.
Your browser asks once for camera and microphone access. Allow it, check your preview, and join.
Nothing to install, and no Zoom or Teams. It works in any modern browser.
For teachers
You teach in the same room. Open it from your bookings; it unlocks 10 minutes before start for you too.
Free consultations and paid lessons all run through one classroom, on the schedule you set.
No external tools or meeting links to manage. Vocabest creates a private room for every booking.
Rooms open 10 minutes before the scheduled start, and only the two of you can join. If your connection hiccups mid-lesson, the classroom reconnects you automatically.
Payments & refunds
Tutors set their own hourly rate, and you pay per lesson, securely through Stripe, right on Vocabest. Your first consultation is always free. If a lesson doesn't happen as planned, say a tutor cancels or doesn't show up, you're protected with a full refund or a free rebooking.
